I’m finding it hard to keep track of what day we’re on- but can just say WHAT a cracking busy weekend!!!
I feel like the eventing season has properly kicked off- we started slowly, with the ‘training shoes’ etc… This weekend, though, was 5 first real events for the baby team at the gorgeous Offchurch Bury in Warwickshire- and today was Mac’s OI run at Cholmondeley.
Everybody had gold stars for different reasons! We’ve been working so hard on each horses weakness, I can’t help but be thrilled with steps in the right direction!
Nelson was the first gold star for his improvement in the dressage- he scored a superb 27 dressage… we all know he can jump, so just cruised round the cross country for his top 10 placing after wobbling a pole off!! Lunar has come to me from Showjumping, and 2 weeks ago could hardly trot, and wasn’t fully sure about cross country… she did a super test for a 30, and I do believe the penny has dropped cross country!!! Cash man bosses things for a steady double clear- he is by far the greenest, so fabulous for his first ‘real’ event!!
Day 2 involved Becky’s first event with FDE, and did a solid double clear on baby Tiggs… but the Gold medal has to go to Hendricks– who pulled off a 4th place and a super confident double clear in his 100 section- my superstar 5 year old!!!
I’m all motivated and excited to get on with the next ones… tomorrow is a 5 yr old NexGen Qualifier for Hendricks and Cash… and then Aston with the big boys and 7 entered for the unaffiliated at Cholmondeley UA in 10 days time!!!
