Go hard or go home…

It’s taken a LARGE G & T before I could bring myself to writing… character building International day, one day horses were on it! My team of Smurfs were a great support, giving me a kick when I was sad, and feeding me to keep me going!!

Tiny finished 11th, after a more settled dressage (though still not quite ‘there’). Smokie had a lovely- foot perfect- romp round the xc after a couple of mistakes dressage & I had a rail sj.

Foxy found the new heightened atmosphere too much in the wind- noisy flappy flags etc! So we called it a day, and will wait to try again at Burnham.

Pete… Pete… Pete… so close: “Go hard or Go home”… after lying in the top 10 overnight after dressage, with a spanking good test, he continued to feel Mr Cool, Calm, Collected & Classy… foot perfect SJ, best ever round… and I’d say the same about the xc, felt a million dollars… til I tried to be clever, with a horse who is far more clever than I give him credit for! He couldn’t possibly jump the angle and distance I thought I was helping him with- but only got 4 time penalties with a circle!! ? That would have been good enough for 4th place… GUTTED ? I suppose when you’re chasing the wins, you open yourself up to mistakes… God this horse is going to be one hell of a competitor when we get our acts together!!! ? ??
