What a week @osbertoninternationalhorsetrials… Thank you team!!! @spaldinginternationalsaddles @westvilletherapyunits @lucindafrances @franklinbillard @equimaging. I knew we’d have our work cut out for us running 3 horses long format 2*, but these 3 have run together all year and I couldn’t decide who to leave at home!! Thankfully it was an enormous class- 110 entries!! And two good placings in a strong top 20 was magic!
Pete has been the runaway star all week, doing an absolutely stellar spangly 8th after dressage 46… And climbed from 8th to 6th with his clear inside the time!! Pete had the toughest ride round, as the heavens had opened, and it left the woods lined in white from the freak hail storm, and very greasy turns! So he had to go very steady on the turns and combinations- and like stink in between to make up for it!!! Heartbreakingly, with his 2 fences down over a very significant show jumping course, he dropped to 11th place. Which I would have been made up about if I hadn’t just lost what could have been 4th!!
Smokie- ever the superstar raised from his 50th place middle of the road dressage to 17th with his fast clear Xc… And his incredibly cool clear in the showjumped, which there were VERY few of, raised him to 9th place!!
Tiny moved about the most on the leaderboard after a somewhat sub par performance dressage he lay in 93rd place- ?. His clear inside the time xc brought him up to 32 nd place!! Sadly, he lowered 2 poles as well, which dropped him down to about 40th.
All 3 boys can now go and enjoy their well earnt holiday… Wish I could take one too!! Thank you to my wonderful owners, sponsors and team!!! Where would I be without you!!?
